Overview

The esteemed Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis had just opened a major new theatrical complex on the banks of the Mississippi River. We were asked to create artwork for their new season, and have since worked on the last three years’ shows. We’ve chosen to restrict the artwork to a single family of typefaces and minimal imagery, creating anything we need in-house, or with inexpensive stock. Guthrie posters are displayed in large backlit marquees around the theater, as well as on bus shelters, phone kiosks, and in local advertising.
